Adam Lambert Says ‘It Doesn’t Matter Who I’m Sleeping With’

On Barbara Walters’ ‘10 Most Fascinating People’ special, singer says he has ‘no regrets’ about AMA performance.

Though ABC has canceled several of Adam Lambert’s appearances in the wake of this controversial American Music Awards performance last month, he appeared on the network Wednesday night as part of Barbara Walters’ “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009″ special. And when the “American Idol” runner-up sat down with Walters, he said he still wouldn’t apologize for his onstage antics.
But, he’s also quick to point out, that one performance doesn’t define who he is as a person, or an artist. “To be honest with you, I just — adrenaline is a funny, funny thing and … I got really excited,” he told Walters. “No regrets.”
As for the that fallout that came in the weeks following it, including canceled appearances on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Lambert said that he isn’t sure what long-term effect, if any, it will have on his career. “I don’t think you can really jump to conclusions about me as artist based on one performance,” he said. “That’s an ignorant thing to do.”
Shortly after this past “American Idol” season wrapped, Lambert appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone, confirming the fact that he is gay. He told Walters that it was incredibly easy to decide to come out to the public. “It was a relief,” he said. “I had been open about my sexuality since I had been an adult.”
He concluded the interview by saying that he doesn’t matter what his sexual preference is because for him it’s about being a singer that really matters most. “I’m a very open book. I kind of wear myself on my sleeve,” he said. “Yes, I am a homosexual. Deal with it. … It doesn’t really matter who I’m sleeping with, what matters is I’m singing, my voice.”
Lambert will chat with and perform for the ladies of “The View” on Thursday morning (December 10).

Billy Joel, Christie Brinkley Release Statement About Alexa Ray’s ‘Devastating Heartbreak’

Ex-couple refer to daughter’s ‘dangerous actions’ and accuse the media of spreading ‘vicious lies.’

After days of speculation and tabloid coverage of the alleged suicide attempt by their daughter, Billy Joel and ex-wife Christie Brinkley issued a statement on Wednesday about the incident that lead to 23-year-old Alexa Ray Joel’s hospitalization on Saturday.
“Every parent can imagine the pain and anguish we face as parents of a daughter who is working to recover from the dangerous actions she took while suffering a devastating heartbreak,” the couple said, referring to Alexa Ray’s hospitalization due to a reported overdose of the homeopathic anti-inflammatory Traumeel.
“As much as we hate dignifying tabloid stories with a response, we feel we must set the record straight to protect our family. The story that ran in the New York Post on December 8th, and has been subsequently spread across the Internet, is filled with vicious lies and attempts to smear our character and that of our beloved daughter,” they said, referring to a story the tabloid printed on Tuesday claiming that the suicide attempt came after a turbulent family vacation with Brinkley in Turks and Caicos.
“We ask the public and legitimate media outlets to please ‘consider the source’ and to not further exacerbate our daughter’s situation by repeating and legitimizing these false reports.” The couple did not specify what heartbreak Alexa Ray suffered, but the aspiring singer has reportedly struggled for some time following a breakup with bandmate and on-again, off-again boyfriend Jimmy Riot.
Following the weekend hospitalization, Alexa Ray has been resting comfortably at an undisclosed location and, according to a spokesperson, is “feeling much better.”
